Frequently asked questions about the Year Wheel
What is the difference between an activity and a task?
An activity is a planning object in the year wheel — it shows what is to be done and when. A task is the concrete work item on a Kanban board that drives execution. You create tasks straight from an activity, and they are kept synchronized.
Do we have to re-plan the whole wheel every year?
No. You clone the entire wheel to next year with one click. Recurring activities are copied automatically with dates shifted one year forward, and one-off activities can optionally be included.
How do the Year Wheel and the Kanban board stay connected?
When you create a task from an activity they are linked. If the activity's status changes the task moves to the right Kanban column, and if you move the task on the board the activity's status is recalculated automatically — synchronization works both ways.
Can we use our own categories?
Yes. The module ships with ten ready-made categories, but you can add your own and edit the existing ones — with your own names, colors and icons. Categories are shared by all wheels in the organization.
